Elizabeth will be offering free shipping on all items when you use the code FREESHIPPING. Please enjoy getting to know Elizabeth and Naptime Craze Designs and be sure to enter the GIVEAWAY below!

Tell us a bit about yourself and your background.

Hello, my name is Elizabeth and I live in HOT Houston, TX but I couldn't see myself living anywhere else.  I am a true Texan… just without the boots and cowboy hat LOL.  I have 2 amazing little boys who are 3 and 1 and they are seriously my whole world times a million. I also have another little bean on the way and yep it's a.... BOY!! There is nothing better than living in a boy’s world as far as I'm concerned. I'm also a wife to a great guy who supports my crazy sewing obsession and always at least smiles and nods when I show him all my new creations. I have been sewing since I was a little girl but I really started sewing after my youngest was born. I just had so much time during naptime and I needed to be busy so that's when I picked up my passion again and opened up NCD about a year ago. It was the coolest thing I've ever done. I had talked about it for years and it was so much fun to actually put it into action. I love making bags and seriously get giddy every time a new one comes off my machine. And I am almost always thinking about a new bag that *needs* to be made. So that's me in a nutshell.

Tell us about your business.
I make all different types of bags.  I pretty much have a huge bag obsession so I love spreading all the ‘bag love’.  I really like to make a bag that has a purpose and I love making custom bags that suit each customer’s needs individually.

When and why did you start your business?
Naptime Craze Designs started in March 2013 and I started it when my youngest started sharing the same naptime with my oldest.  I all of sudden had all of this ‘free time’ and I have a serious need to stay busy so… one day I decided to pull out my sewing machine and I haven’t stopped sewing since that day.

What inspires you?

I have always been a HUGE bag lady.  But it has been so hard finding that ‘perfect’ bag that fits all of my needs.  So my main inspiration is to keep creating bags that can be custom made to individually fit each customer’s wants and needs.

#MyBeautyIs... { week 1 }

BRAVE

Bravery is a new attribute for me. I haven't always been brave and this is still not easy for me to put out there. But because of the response this movement has gotten, because when I asked a craft group to send me selfies for a promo collage, 15 women did just that without question, because of each of you, I am inspired and I am brave.

I understand I am asking a lot out of you to put yourself out there and join me on this journey of loving ourselves. So today, I will start this out with braving this raw photo of myself. No make up, no product in my hair; this is me fresh out of the shower. I have come accustomed to editing some pictures before posting, to hide the blemishes make up wouldn't hide. No more. I am going to rock my flaws!

Thank you all for joining me on this mission to celebrate the beauty within us!

#MyBeautyIs...

Are you aware of how beautiful you are?

After having my kids, my confidence began to dwindle. I haven't been comfortable in my new mommy body. My closet was full of clothes that I was thinking "I will fit into these again one day". But the truth is, I'm not; I will never fit those clothes again. And that is just fine! I am not the person that wore those clothes anymore. I am 3 kids happier and have grown in ways I will never be able to explain. So I am letting go, packing up the old clothes,  and moving forward; accepting the new me. And hey, you know what that means... shopping!!

I have the tendency to wave off compliments, play them down, and even point out the flaws;
"You look great" -> "oh it's just the lighting"
"I love your shirt" -> "It's actually pretty faded"
"What a beautiful cake" -> "It came out that cute on accident"

I had always felt people were just trying to be nice. But then I started thinking... I don't pay people compliments unless I mean it. Why do I feel someone else would be any different? Well, they're not different; they do mean it! We ARE beautiful. And I think it is about time we all realize this for ourselves.

So I invite you to join me on a mission for a happier, healthier version of ourselves.

#MyBeautyIs is a movement meant to empower us; to celebrate all of the beauty in this world and ourselves.
This weekly selfie photo challenge will help us take a look at beauty within us.

Let's love ourselves inside and out. To participate:
Just post a selfie on any social media (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc) every Monday, tag #MyBeautyIs, and add a caption with an attribute that makes you beautiful; inside or out.

I created the below list for us to write down our #MyBeautyIs attributes so that we may reflect on all that is beautiful about ourselves after the 45 Mondays left this year.
Just click the picture to open and print.

Friday Feature- Remaking Memories {Giveaway}

I am beyond excited to bring you this weeks Friday Feature. Remaking Memories creates beautiful
pieces that hold a special your heart! I can honestly say, I will be a future customer! Please enjoy reading about Katie and her handmade shop and be sure to enter to win beautiful 1 in. sparkle pendant sealed in a gunmetal bezel with a 24" gunmetal chain.

I grew up in a small farm town in Michigan and after graduating from high school, I relocated to Georgia.  I wasn't expecting to stay in Georgia long term, but it's been nearing 15 years and I'm still here.  Although I'm a northern at heart, Georgia is definitely our home.  I'm married to an incredible man who is so supportive of my desire to create.  We have an adorable 1 year old son who keeps us laughing and counting our blessings.  I work full time in the corporate world, so I create my designs and make my handmade items after my son goes to bed and on weekends.  In addition to a love of art and handmade products, I have an obsession with volleyball, photography, Häagen-Dazs ice cream, and traveling.

In 2009, one of my best friends was in the midst of planning her wedding when I offered to make some jewelry for her bridesmaids to wear on her special day. I wanted to create something unique and artsy for the ladies by turning components of my friend's wedding invitation into elegant pendants and bracelets. After really enjoying creating those pieces and envisioning how many other special moments I could turn into cherished keepsakes - Remaking Memories, LLC was born.  Remaking Memories moves you a step beyond your memories, by creating unique and lasting keepsakes. Individualized, one-of-a-kind jewelry, ornaments, magnets, coasters, and so much more.  I love creating personalized items, but also enjoy making products using stained glass, fused glass, resin, glass tiles, and more.

Friday Feature- Trinkets-N-Treasures BY Tess {SALE+GIVEAWAY}

I am so happy to share this week's Friday Feature. Trinkets-N-Treasures by Tess makes the cutest little tutus, bows, and more! Please enjoy reading about Tess and her Handmade shop and get an exclusive discount in her store. Be sure to enter to win an adorable spring  bow.

My name is Tess Van Winkle and I grew up in a small town on the East Side of Cincinnati, Ohio. Throughout the years I have watched my mother sew and my grandmother hand sew quilts. I always shared their love to create and have the ability to do so as a business now. I attended The Ohio State University (GO BUCKS!) for college and met my amazing, supportive husband when moving back home after my diagnoses with a brain tumor. I'm a pretty tough cookie, but our daughter makes me melt in 2 seconds when I'm feeling down. Family means the world to me, and I can't go a day without creating something!

Trinkets-N-Treasures BY Tess started late in 2012 after I had trouble with the quality of hair bows I was buying at the big stores. I decided that I would start making my own for my 3 month old daughter. I have always loved to craft and learn how to make new items, so naturally this turned into something more. Again, I wasn't impressed with the big store burp cloths, bibs, tutus, and so much more. Bam...I expanded what I had to offer. I strive to make everything up to a momma bear standard. Anything you can think of to make your cuties cuter can be found at
T-N-T By Tess!

Trinkets-N-Treasures by Tess is generously offering 20% off one item of your  choice when you mention our blog.

Friday Feature- W(e)il'd Hair and Accessories- SALE

W(e)il'd Hair and Accessories hand makes beautiful hair accessories and chunky necklaces.
Jodi, the owner and designer is also a stay-at-home mom to a smart 4.5 -year-old girl and a handsome, almost 2-year-old boy. She and her husband will be celebrating their 6 year wedding anniversary this March. (yay, congrats!)

W(e)il'd Hair & Accessories, (pronounced "Wild"), was created after her sassy daughter refused to wear anything mama-made in her short, curly hair. Despite her rejection, she continued making hair bows, hoping that one day she would enjoy accessorizing. She then shared pictures of her bows with friends and was invited to join a hair bow swap group. From there, she participated in her first vendor fair and blossomed into what it is today! Envisioning unique designs has inspired her to get in touch with her artistic side. When she discovered chunky necklaces, she knew she had to get her hands on some beads and start creating!
All pieces are designed and assembled in my smoke-free/pet-free home.

SALE
W(e)il'd Hair & Accessories is offering 10% off any item in her ready-to-ship chunky necklace collection. The discount cannot be applied to shipping charges or custom orders. Discount offer will expire on 2/14/14 at 11:59pm, EST.  Customers should message Jodi via Etsy or Facebook and mention Baby Moon Boutique Feature to receive the discount.
